How a round works

Every player starts with 9 lives. Tag an opponent's vest to take lives away: 1 with the Pistol, 2 with the Shotgun or Submachine Gun, 3 with the Rocket. The last player or team with lives left wins.

Surprised by the range

Super happy with this. We took these out to our backyard which is pretty large, and they easily tag each other from opposite corners. Claims 130ft and definitely hits that. Will be ordering another set for the holidays.

Is it safe for children?

Yes. LumaTag uses an infrared signal, the same kind of invisible light a TV remote sends. Nothing is fired from the blaster, so there are no darts or pellets to worry about. We recommend it for ages 8 and up.

Can we play indoors and outdoors?

Both work. Hallways, basements, gardens and parks all make good arenas. In very bright direct sunlight an infrared signal does not reach as far, so shade, evenings and indoor play give the best range.

How many people can play?

The 2-Player Set has everything for two players and the 4-Player Set has everything for four. With four players you can play two teams of two or everyone for themselves.

How do lives and blaster modes work?

Every player starts a round with 9 lives, shown on the vest. A Pistol hit takes 1 life, a Shotgun or SMG hit takes 2 and a Rocket hit takes 3. Stronger modes give you fewer shots before you need to reload.
